IMG Pharma has published the article “Analysis of Mitochondrial Function in Cell Membranes as Indicator of Tissue Vulnerability to Drugs in Humans” in the special issue “State-of-the-Art Drug Discovery and Development in Spain” of the peer-reviewed international journal “Biomedicines (https://doi.org/10.3390/biomedicines10050980).
The article addresses the early detection of the side effects of various drugs with antidepressant, antipsychotic, anticholinergic, narcotic and analgesic properties, evaluating these effects in animal and human tissues, thanks to the cell membrane microarray technology from IMG PHARMA BIOTECH.
The work has been carried out in collaboration with the UPV/EHU’s “Neuropsychopharmacology of Pain and Addictions” research group, led by Dr. María Torrecilla Sesma, and the “Development and degeneration of the nervous system” research group, from the IBGM-UVA-CSIC, leaded by Drs. Lola Ganfornina and Diego Sanchez.
Thus, the scientific production of the company continues growing, increasing the already extensive list of top-level scientific publications whose main author is Dr. Gabriel Barreda Gómez, CSO of our company.
