An installation, financed by the Swiss entity Medicines for Malaria Venture, with which it can reproduce the entire complex cycle of malaria, in its phases of transmission, hepatic and erythrocytic. Likewise, it allows to develop studies in other pathologies in which the transmission occurs by mosquitoes.
The insectary is built with the most modern techniques in biological containment and is managed by specialized technicians. In it you can infect humanized mice, properly anesthetized and with temperature control, to ensure the best animal welfare standards.
The facility has climate cameras, insulation units to prevent direct exposure of technicians to mosquitoes and a procedure for safe removal of biological materials.
