The University of the Basque Country has awarded Nerea Nieto Ulibarri for her Final Postgraduate´s Thesis “Study of the effect of antimalarial drugs on organ-specific mitocondrial respiration in cell membranes”.
The aforementioned TFM framed in Pharmacology; development, evaluation and rational use of medicines of the Postgraduate´s Degree of UPV/ EHU has been carried out in the laboratories of IMG PHARMA BIOTECH, under the supervisión and co-direction of Dr. Teresa Moreras, of the Department of Pharmacology of the UPV/EHU, and of Dr. Gabriel Barreda, Scientific Director of the company.

This success is added to the recent publication of the article “Comparative lipidomic análisis of mammalian retinal ganglion cells and Müller glia in situ and in vitro using High-Resolution Imaging Mass Spectrometry”, a work in which IMG PHARMA BIOTECH has had the opportunity to participate, and which has been published by Dr. Elena Vecino, Professor of Cell Biology at the UPV/EHU and leader of the Experimental Ophthalmo-Biology Group- GOBE, in the prestigious journal Nature Scientigic Reports (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-77087-x).
Both successes, in addition to supporting the company´s research, also contribute to the visibility of the scientific-technical excellence of this Biscayan company, located in BIC BIZKAIA, an incubator specialized in bio-micro-nano technologies, advanced manufacturing and clean technologies, promoted by the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and managed by BEAZ.
